Fascinating. According to NBC’s Richard Engel, the counter insurgency goals are simple:
a) “Influence insurgent-minded individuals to adopt a neutral disposition”;
Translation: Kill the bad guys.
b) “Influence neutral-minded individuals to adopt a supportive disposition;”
Translation: Recruit the leftovers.
c) “Retain supportive individuals.”
Translation: Keep the good guys alive.

If you look at the bottom right corner of that image you can totally see that this is a “working draft”.
Obviously once they release the final draft it will be much cleaner and actually make sense.
I do, however, think there’s a level of honesty in this graph. There is no end/exit point. It’s all feedback loops and circular logic.
At least we no longer need disagree on the facts of this war and of the decision making process. There’s your silver lining.

A propellor blade flew off the last remaining operational WW II B-25, owned and operated by the Republican Air Force, LLC, while the pilot was running up the engines prior to takeoff, and cut the aged survivor of air combat in WW II in half just below the belt.
