Joe Lieberman, who early in the campaign said Barack Obama was not qualified to be President is now trying to walk back his comments, now that it looks like he’s not going to be Secretary of Defense in a McCain administration.
When I go out, I say, ‘I have a lot of respect for Sen. Obama. He’s bright. He’s eloquent.’ Someday, I might even support him for president, but now in the midst of this series of crises, John McCain is simply so much better prepared that that’s who I am proud to support,” Lieberman said.
It is one of my fondest hopes that the Dems get to a 60 seat majority so they can take away Lieberman’s Homeland Security chairmanship and generally tell him to pound sand.
