John McCain just got on this long rant and ran out of breath!
Barack hit it out of the park. McCain looks like an old man.
McCain-“It’s not hard to fix Social Security”–Then why haven’t you done anything in the 25 years you’ve been in Congress. He just comes off as an old guy who gets on a rant.
“That One”-OMG!!! McCain just called Barack “That one”.
IT’S OVER.-If America is watching at 7:05 PM PST, then Barack’s attack on McCain’s missteps on Iraq, is a seminal moment. The contrast between the character and intellect of the two men seems stark and even my Republican friends in the room are saying McCain is officially over. Here is the text.
Mr. McCain reprises his argument that Mr. Obama isn’t ready to be president. “We don’t have time for on the job training,” he says.
Mr. Obama has prepared an answer to this. He starts out by noting that Mr. McCain has suggested before, and just did again, “that I don’t understand.”
“It’s true,” Mr. Obama says. There are some things he doesn’t understand. Like how we ended up invading a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 while Osama bin Laden is setting up base camps to attack us. And when Mr. McCain was “cheerleading” Mr. Bush to invade Iraq, saying it would be quick and easy. “That was the wrong judgment,” he says. The war has put an enormous strain on the troops and on our budget, Mr. Obama says. We’ve spent nearly $700 billion and if we continue on the path, which Mr. McCain wants to do, it will go over a trillion dollars. We’re spending $10 billion a month while the Iraqis have a $79 billion surplus. “We need that $10 billion a month here in the United States to put people back to work,” Mr. Obama says.
McCain walks out!-McCain seems to have walked off the stage leaving only Obama to meet the crowd. That Bad.
