As the McCain campaign tries to create their own reality–pretending Sarah Palin is even ready to be Governor of a state with a population smaller than a middle sized American city, much less Vice President of the U.S.–pretending that a firm Rick Davis is the majority shareholder, board member and Treasurer of has not been on the payroll of Freddie Mac right up until last month when they were taken over by the Feds–it becomes obvious that Karl Rove is still running the Republican machine. Who arranged the meeting for Bush to give McCain the platform to screw up the bailout deal, so he didn’t have to confront Barack on Friday night in this embarrassing position of being the great supporter of deregulation? He knew that Jim Leher as an honest news man would have to ask the first question of the debate on Friday about their views of the current economic crisis. He would have to be a mummy to not ask that question, despite the fact that the debate ostensibly was about foreign policy.
Barack said the smartest thing said all week–“A President should be able to do more than one thing at a time”. If John McCain really thinks that if he is on television for 90 minutes, the country will collapse, then he is just as delusional as David Letterman thinks he is.
In the meantime, Karl Rove and Steve Schmidt keep running the campaign in Planet McCain. Enjoy.
