Bono is such a suck butt. After kissing Bush’s ass, he is now trying to curry favor with McCain, just in case Obama doesn’t win the Presidency. He knows Obama is already on board to help Africa, so like the two bit politician he is becoming, Bono is hedging his bets.
Palin will be joined by Sen. John McCain for joint meetings on Wednesday with the presidents of Georgia and the Ukraine, as well as with the prime minister of India. The Republican running mates will also meet Wednesday with U2 lead singer Bono, who has been active in international humanitarian issues.
If he had a fucking brain in his ego-maniacal head, he’d get a quick stomach ache and go back to Ireland and stop messing around with American politics.
He’s a celebrity, so McCain and Palin will undoubtedly ignore him. He’s also a pain in the ass. I will ignore him. He won’t care.

A friend of mine met him a few years back, and he was busy trying to convince her that the VIP room they were in wasn’t as VI as the VVVIP room that he was inviting her to join.
She kept trying not to laugh at how short he was, and how all the really big sweeping hand and arm gestures only made the smallness even more apparent – like he was desperately trying to take up more space, but really not fooling anyone.
It didn’t help that she’s nearly six feet tall, stands up straight even when she’s in heels, and was looking way down on him the whole time.
I’d forgotten all about that until I saw this picture. And damn, is he short.

Bono sucks. His music has sucked for years.
And while he may have used his musical career in a Dylan-esque fashion to affect politics earlier on, nowadays his contribution to my culture has been zero (negative with this photo-op).

Bono SAYS he meets with these types of people (Bush, McCain et al) because the people in Africa need help. Ignoring the person in charge of the country with the greatest wealth to share (maybe he will have to re- examine that part of it) because of personal political differences helps Africa not one bit.

Bono is Irish, and Palin first listened to ‘The Joshua Tree’ when it came out in 1986. There’s your foreign experience right there – and it goes back more than two decades.
Also, she can fly to Ireland from the airport connected to the road from her house in Alaska. So it’s not like she’s limited or anything.

This is not the first time Bono has met with McCain so let’s not make it out like he’s just suddenly trying to curry favor with him.
This Palin meeting makes me ill, but overall, I actually feel like Bono’s willingness to meet with conservatives is proof that he does care, not proof that he doesn’t. He is basically working as a lobbyist for Africa. You might think he has no right to do that, but if he is, in effect, actually doing that, then working both sides of the aisle is the right thing for him to do. It’s not his fault McCain and Palin are the crazy people (approximately) half the country plans on voting for. He’s just working with what we’re giving him.
But, yes, let’s make fun of him for being short. Because that’s such a terrible thing for a person to be.

you can’t say Bono’s early music sucks. Even if he’s an annoyance now, he was a very good musician, and wrote great songs.
