It appears some Generals and Republican’s are scared to death of John McCain’s bellicosity and temper.

Wow! That was moving…
Wow! That was moving…
You recently posted on Russia’s dependence on capital markets. Nice evidence for that linkage in yesterday’s 20% drop in their MICEX 10 index. It has been on a dramatic ride for the past couple of years.
Somehow I doubt McCain’s “braintrust” take notice of stuff like this.

Yeah, that’s pretty chilling. To hear him keep repeating, “There will be other wars.”
But that’s another reason that some people are behind him (in reference to the racism thread).
Some voters are always happy to hear that there are foreigners who need killing. You don’t even need to specify *which* foreigners, or why, beyond “because they pose a threat to our safety!”
Just make it clear that you’ll create mountains of corpses, and you secure a bloc of votes.
Ritter’s anger is dead on, too. The clinically insane Dick Cheney would gladly, enthusiastically kick off a nuclear war that might result in two million or two billion dead. And he’d still lecture anyone who would listen that his work wasn’t finished yet. I have to wonder how far the bombastic Buchanan is from the truth when he says that McCain would make Cheney look like Ghandi.

I heard Ritter talk a couple times before the Iraq invasion where he said there were no WMD’s. He was right then, and I think he is right now about McCain. A few weeks ago I heard a man call in on C-Span and say he grew up with McCain. The man sounded for real, but who knows these days. But he thinks McCain is still angry about Vietnam and that his goal in life is to win a war. McCain’s words sure sound like that is his mission and like Bush he will even lie to win the office so he has the power.

Wow, that should be required viewing for every U.S. voter. This quote as well:
“Naturally the common people don’t want war. But after all, it is the
leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it’s always a
simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy or a
fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of
the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every
country.”
— Hermann Goering, Hitler’s Reich Marshall, at the Nuremberg
Trials after World War II.
The Bush team sure nailed that one and are laughing at us as the Haliburton profits roll in.
I bet many McCain/Palin fans would be crying a different tune if they seriously thought their kids could get drafted and shipped off to war.

Well, now, that’s it, isn’t it? Hire contractors for a lot of money so you don’t have to draft kids for very little. Outsource the war. Let volunteer soldiers believe they’ve signed on for one tour, and then make them stay for three. Call up the National Guard to guard what? And then not have them available to the states that need them…

Dan has it right: chilling indeed. And when Pat Buchanan starts painting him in broad strokes? Look out.

Is there the hidden hand of the Rapture believers in there? There’s a lot of weird support for a war-mongering Israel among the rabid evangelicals. They want nuclear war in the middle east as it fulfills the prophesy.

Well, AIG was pretty much responsible for 9/11 and see what happens to ‘em now. And Bush is still accountable for war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq so let God punish him soon! McCain will be dealt with by Obama so no worries there. But just look at today’s financial mess in Wall Street, people. Ain’t this caused by the major WMD blunder of the worst Presidency in the history of America, George Bush, the War Terrorist. Now, the Republicans want you to elect another Warmonger President in John McCain? Get REAL!
