The new ABC Poll makes it pretty clear that the American public does not think that Sarah Palin has the experience to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. For all the cheers among the faithful conservative base for Palin, 50% of Americans believe she’s not ready.
Republican operatives are worried about the Palin negatives going higher, so they don’t want to put her in front of the press. Chuck Todd reports.
There are now about 60 days until Election Day and just three weeks until the debates. And who knows whether we’ll get the first Sarah Palin serious issue interview before then. This morning on JOE, McCain manager Rick Davis wouldn’t commit to putting her out to media interviews unless they saw it as helping their campaign. This Sunday is interesting in that three of the four principles are doing sunday shows, the lone holdout: Palin.
Meanwhile the Anchorage Daily News calls out their Governor to stop stalling on Troopergate.
Gov. Sarah Palin is taking the wrong approach to Troopergate. She should be practicing the open and transparent, ethical and accountable government she promised when running for governor and boasts about now that she’s on the national stage. Instead, Gov. Palin has begun stonewalling the Legislature’s attempt to get the bottom of allegations that she, her family or staff violated ethical or state personnel rules.
