Send This Cracker Back to the Farm
This is Rep. Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia. Last night while celebrating Sarah Palin’s speech he said that Barack and Michele Obama were “uppity”.
Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.”
I suggest that anyone who is as offended as I am by this racist cracker, send a donation to his Democratic opponent, Steve Camp.

Funny, The Globe & Mail’s preferred adjective for Obama is “presumptive,” and no one seems to mind. Westmoreland should choose his words better.

pod-You must be from Canada. In the South, “uppity” when applied to African American’s is more than a code word.

Wow. That’s just…
I guess the ghost of Strom Thurmond lives on.

This is the first time I have heard the word “uppity”. I guess you learn new things every day. But I do know Lynn Westmoreland. The first time I saw him speak made a lasting impression on me: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article13662.htm

Good guess, Jon. The right-wing press in Canada has gone out of their way to characterize Obama as “presumptive” and I don’t think anyone has accused them of fostering a racist attitude. I guess that proves a few things about Canada…

…(excuse the double-post): namely that either Canadians don’t know how racist the term/description actually is, or that they do and don’t care.
