Readers of this blog know that I am no fan of Larry Kudlow, the king of the economic conservative bloviators. But over at The Corner, Larry makes a good point.
So far last night and tonight there is no reference to the weak economy. There is no economic recovery message. There is no growth message.
This morning the Labor Department reported an unexpected jump in unemployment claims. The stock market is tanking. Yesterday the Fed’s Beige book said conditions were shaky in every region. My guess is tomorrow the unemployment rate will go up. The Republicans aren’t talking about the terrible economy, because they are responsible for it. Now is the time for Barack and Joe to press the notion that we can’t have four more years of Republican economics in the White House.
