MSM About Face

Now that the Clinton’s are signalling its all over by tomorrow night (as I predicted 3 months ago), its amusing watching as the Cable TV talking heads do an about face by talking about how the Clinton’s will be so helpful to Barack in the General Election.

It’s not sounding like Bill will be hoofing it for Obama anytime soon. . .

“I want to say also that this may be the last day I’m ever involved in a campaign of this kind. I thought I was out of politics, ’til Hillary decided to run. But it has been, one of the greatest honors of my life to go around and campaign for her for president,” said Clinton as he began his speech.

I’m impatiently awaiting the VP candidate announcement. . . will it be a male or a woman (not named Clinton)?

I stay away from TV news in any form as a general rule. (And Anderson Cooper in particular makes me nauseous, in the most literal sense.) On the other hand my wife does not. So because I was sitting with her, I saw 5 or 10 minutes of CNN last night before I was forced to flee.

I was amused by the “Republican strategist” (I can’t remember the name) gushing about how much Clinton would add to Obama’s campaign as a running mate. The Republican pundits, perhaps correctly, assume that their best chance of winning the election is running against both the Scary Black Man and the Wicked Marxist Witch of the West, and they are transparent in their phony praise of the strength of an Obama-Clinton ticket.

Or at least that’s how I saw it.

Hell will freeze over before Obama picks Hillary as the VP.

  4. Dan says:

Are you now agitating against Hadean Cooling, Jon?

Speaking of TV news… when I went over to Switzerland and saw Al Jazeera for the first time, I was simply amazed at how… NEWSy it felt. Much more than BBC. I watch CNN/FoxNews for laughs until I get too disgusted.

    Funny ain’t it.

PS: Anyone see The Daily Show’s interview of McClellan last night? Again (“Stop hurting America!”), I wish the real reporters would take some notes from Leibowitz; stop BSing and just ask solid questions.
